My One and Only Piece of Brand!

Hello! Sorry I didn't post yesterday; I didn't get a chance to take photos of my outfit. I'm wearing it again on Saturday, though, so I'll be sure to take photos then. Anyway, this is what I wore to choir today;

Outfit Breakdown;
Blouse: Handmade
Headbow: Handmade - egl-comm-sales
Skirt: Angelic Pretty
Socks: EBay
Pearls: Mother's

I was wearing my Primark cream bolero as well, but I forgot to take photos with it. That's all for today. Thanks for reading!

Boats, Ahoy!

Hello again! Today was my first day at college for a week or so. I'm pretty tired. Here's what I wore today;

Purikura is fun! Not sure what possessed me to do it in lavender, though. Like I said, I'm tired!

Outfit breakdown;
Skirt: Handmade by me
Cutsew: Primark, bows & applique by me

Coat: Store 21
Socks: EBay
Headbow: Handmade by me
Shoes: Shoe Zone

This post would've been up a lot earlier (and I would've done the thingsI meant to do today, like tidy my room and work out what to wear tomorrow), if it wasn't for these exciting things I bought;

Do you like my awesome Bleach poster? It fell off the wall, actually. :( But it has all the lieutenants on it, even Kaien-dono!

False nails! Pretty polish! I could get into this. I've never even seen false nails before (except on people, obviously), let alone applied them. It took me a while to work out how to hold them without the polish sticking to me (stick a roll of masking tape on the inside, as it happens). I tried to do a manicure like the one I did yesterday, but they came out silver instead. Oh, well. I've put them on anyway. I managed to burn a hole in my fabric today, so a little nail polish won't matter now, I don't think. Here's how they look;

I was expecting the glue to be like eyelash glue, but no. Shit was basically epoxy. My hands are stuck together now.

Honestly, I'm not sure. It's probably just my shoddy paint job that's making me iffy (and a couple of the nails don't quite fit because I filed them too much). Perhaps if I do them a solid colour I'll like them more. For now, I'm just getting used to how weird they feel. Typing is taking much longer now, so I'm going to go and watch Downton Abbey. Goodnight!

Fun, Fun, Fun

I have nothing glaringly important to do today, so I decided to be lazy and catch up on Red Dwarf and Downton Abbey.

I love me some Downton Abbey. Period dramas and soap operas aren't my thing at all, but this show is awesome. I think it's the hats.

However, in aid of my promise of being cute, I decided to try and do my nails. I used this tutorial from The Beauty Department for a simple French manicure. I've never done one before, and it's been at least two or three years since I last put on any nail polish, haha. This is how it turned out;

Stamp time again!

I'm going to take it off later, because I have print tomorrow and nail varnish + chemicals + silk is probably not going to go well, but it's good practice for when I have a non-print project and can actually wear it. ^.^ I had to use silver paint because I don't have any white, and it's Sunday so the chemist is shut and I can't be bothered to go into town, because there's no buses on Sunday. Next, I need to get some nice pastel colours, and some stencils. I really want some like this;

They do quite a lot of different designs, and they're only 99p! I presume you just stick them on and paint over them...

In other news, I've found an awesome pair of white shoes that I'm going to buy to go with all my Lolita (and everything else)! They're about £30 inc. shipping, but look at how beautiful they are!

Huge heel, floral lace, chunky platform, oh my god!

Now I'm going to go and work out what I'm wearing tomorrow. I think they best way to make myself dress up is to pick out my outfit the night before. Thanks for reading!

Hello, Again.

Whew, it's been a while. I have dressed prettily since I last posted, promise! But I've been too busy to take photos, and I honestly haven't dressed up too often. However, my boyfriend dumped me last week, and I've decided to cheer myself up by dressing more cutely from now on. So anyway, here's what I wore to the choir rehearsal before out concert today;

I tried to make the pictures look like purikura! I've never done that before, so I'm pretty happy with them. I had to download a bunch of plug-ins for Paint.NET to do it. I wish I had Photoshop. :(

Outfit breakdown;
JSK: Handmade by me
Blouse: Handmade by me
Bolero: Primark
Socks: EBay
Flower: New Look
Shoes: Shoe Zone
Pearls: My mother's

This outfit is nearly done, now. I just need some white boots. In other news, the concert was awesome. I love the Pomp and Circumstance march. I'd forgotton how fun Last Night of the Proms can be!

NaNaNaNaNaNaNaNa NaNaNaNaNaNaNaNaNa Batman!

Hi all! To those arriving from my sewing blog, welcome! To those arriving from elsewhere, also welcome!

I decided to keep the two blogs (style & sewing) seperate, so that those of you who don't care about my fashion (or general daily life ramblings) don't have to read about it, and those of you who don't care about sewing don't have to listen to me going "OMFG BUTTONS YAY!" all the time. A much better arrangement, I think, although you may get a little of my cooking from time to time (I'm trying to learn to cook Chinese, Japanese ad Korean food, with some succes but little determination). Anyway, moving on.

On Friday night, I went to the cinema to see 'The Dark Knight Rises' with James (my boyfriend). We both thought it was really good, but not as good as 'The Dark Knight'. I actually didn't like it as much as 'Batman Begins' either, but then I'm a sucker for psychotropic gas attacks. Anyway, since I was going to Brighton (and the fabric shop), I thought I'd better dress up, and this is what I wore;

Excuse the derpy photo. I literally just found out that my camera has a self timer, otherwise I would've started this blog months ago, so I'm still practicing with it. But, hey, you get to see my kitchen sink.

Dress: H&R London
Blouse: Offbrand (I can't remember)
Hair Clip: New Look
Shoes: Lily & Skinner
Petticoat: Hell Bunny
Incongruous Red Bracelet: Redfest Festival Band

Thanks for looking! I'm off to make dinner for myself and James now. Chow Mein, yay!
